  • Yes, Saunum’s ready-made range of saunas are designed for the outdoors.

  • For in-stock items, delivery will be scheduled once full payment has been received.

    For out-of-stock or custom items, please allow 3 to 6 months for delivery. This timeframe may vary based on the manufacturer's lead times, international shipping schedules, and customs clearance processes.

  • No, our saunas are sold separately from heaters.

    We offer a selection of four Saunum heaters in different kilowatt options, allowing you to choose the heater that best suits your needs.

  • Yes, absolutely! We sell Saunum heaters separately, so if you’re looking to incorporate Saunum technology into your custom-built sauna, you can purchase the heater from us directly.

  • Yes, you can! The Saunum Base is a climate device designed to work alongside your existing electric or wood-fired heater. By integrating the Saunum Base with your current heater, you’ll benefit from Saunum’s air-blending technology, which delivers a more consistent temperature and produces soft, airy steam.

  • Absolutely! If our ready-made range doesn’t meet your needs, feel free to reach out. We work with Australian sauna builders and can help you find the perfect solution tailored to you.

  • Steps required to get your sauna up and running:

    1. To get your sauna up and running, start by getting your electrician to run power to an isolation switch to where you want your sauna to be positioned. Check your amperage requirement with us to ensure your electrician installs the correct size circuit breaker on your main switch board. 

    2. If you have a ready-made sauna, you can skip the assembly step, as they come pre-assembled.

    3. Finally, the Saunum heater will need to be installed. Each heater comes with an Instructions for use and installation booklet.  Our trained installer can also provide guided instructions to your electrician on how to install the heater.  Alternatively, we can send our electrician to install your heater.

  • A solid, level foundation is essential for installing your sauna. We recommend a concrete slab, pavers, pressed gravel, or a wooden deck that can support the weight of the sauna and provide stability. The foundation should be waterproof to prevent moisture issues and allow for proper drainage. Ensure that the foundation is at least slightly raised to avoid direct contact with the ground, which can help protect the sauna from moisture and pests. If you have any specific conditions or requirements, feel free to reach out for personalised guidance.

Health & Safety

  • Contrary to misconceptions, saunas are scientifically proven safe when used responsibly. In Nordic countries, it's common to enjoy temperatures around 80-100°C (176-212°F).

    Studies show that the body adapts to the heat, increasing blood flow and heart rate, similar to moderate exercise. This can lead to improved circulation, reduced stress, and better sleep.

    As long as you take precautions—like staying hydrated and limiting your time—saunas are a fantastic way to relax and enhance well-being!

    The Saunum technology also plays a huge part in making the modern sauna experience much more enjoyable. It evenly distributes steam and heat, creating a comfortable environment that allows you to breathe easily.

  • A typical sauna session lasts between 15 to 30 minutes. Listen to your body and exit if you start to feel dizzy or uncomfortable.

  • Yes! Regular sauna use can promote relaxation, improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and aid in detoxification. However, consult your doctor if you have any medical conditions.

  • To prevent mold in your sauna, try these effective practices. Use towels on the floor and benches to absorb moisture and protect surfaces. After each session, run the heater for 15 minutes with the door closed to reduce moisture, then leave the door open for another 15-30 minutes to encourage airflow.

    Regularly wipe down commonly used surfaces and remove damp items right after use. Additionally, maintaining good ventilation will help keep the sauna dry and reduce the risk of mold growth.

Heater & Power

  • Depending on the model and kilowatt rating, our sauna heaters require 15-40 amps on a single-phase circuit or 10-32 amps on a three-phase circuit. Based on the heater's kilowatt usage, operating costs generally range from $0.57 to $2.39 per hour.

  • The right heater depends on several factors, including the size of your sauna, whether it’s for indoor or outdoor use, if it’s for residential or commercial use, etc.

    When you select a sauna on our website, we provide specific heater recommendations for each model.

    If you’d like personalised guidance, please feel free to reach out—we’re here to help you find the ideal heater for your needs.

    1. Prepare the Sauna
      Ensure the air-blending system (ventilation) is turned off and refrain from adding water to the rocks until the sauna room has reached your desired temperature.

    2. Check Temperature Readiness
      Once the sauna room reaches the selected temperature, the control unit will display:

    3. Understanding Rock Mass Heating
      The Saunum heater contains a substantial rock mass that will retain heat effectively. When the room reaches your chosen temperature, the heating elements will automatically switch off, but the room will remain warm due to the stored heat in the rocks.

    4. Managing Temperature Changes
      Keep in mind that activating the ventilation system, especially when adding water, may cause slight temperature fluctuations within the room.

    Optimising Temperature Between Sessions
    If you leave the sauna, you can turn off the ventilation system (even during short breaks, like jumping into a pool). This will help the sauna room quickly return to a higher temperature for your next session.

Maintenance

    General maintenance guide:

    1. Replace heater elements: Change the heater elements periodically, as they typically last around 1,500 hours of use.  

    2. Restack the stones: Stacking stones has a great effect on the operation of the heater.

    3. Replace the stones:  Sauna stones don't last forever. Contact with water and temperature fluctuations have an impact, and over time they eventually start crumbling. Therefore it is natural that every now and then they should be replaced with new stones.

    4. Annual care: Oil and paint the sauna once a year to maintain its appearance and protect the wood.

    5. Use towels: Use towels to absorb moisture and protect surfaces, especially in high-traffic areas.

    6. Air out the room: After each use, air out the sauna to prevent moisture buildup.

Sauna for Hire & Demo Sessions

  • Yes, we offer several demo locations in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Please contact us to arrange a demonstration of the Saunum heater technology.

  • We recommend bringing a towel, water for hydration, and any personal items you might need, such as a swimsuit or change of clothes. We provide towels and complimentary refreshments as well.

  • Yes! We offer private sauna bookings for special events. Please contact us for more information on availability and pricing.

  • Spare parts for a commercial business: It is essential to minimise operating downtime. We recommend holding at least one set of heater elements, element tunnels, and stones as spare parts.

    Please bear in mind that the lifetime for elements is between 1000 and 1500 hours. In commercial settings, this means 3 to 5 months depending on the daily operating hours.

Warranty

    • The warranty is only valid if a completed installation report is submitted with the claim.

    • The device has been connected to the power network by a qualified electrician in accordance with the regulations in force.

    • The warranty period of the sauna climate device when used in a private sauna is two (2) years.

    • The warranty period of the sauna climate device when used in a public sauna is one (1) year.

    • routine maintenance, cleaning the device, and replacing components due to normal wear and tear;

    • adapting or modifying the device to use it for purposes other than those stated in the operating instructions;

    • risks associated with transport;

    • damage caused by misusing the device;

    • damage caused by improper installation of the device;

    • repairs performed by a party other than a recommended repair partner (maintenance partner) of Saunum;

    • accidents, lightning, water, fire, improper ventilation, or other factors beyond the control of Saunum;

    • faults caused by the use of stones and salt balls not recommended by the manufacturer;

    • heaters and salt balls.

    Thoroughly read the entire user manual before using the device and keep it in a safe and easily accessible place for future reference.
